Here we go!
📍 Departure: Cabrespine, a charming mountain village
🌍 Your adventure begins in the picturesque village of Cabrespine, nestled in the Montagne Noire. Before or after your ride, don't miss the spectacular Giant Chasm of Cabrespine, one of Europe's most impressive caves. Easy Vélo Carcassonne customers benefit from a special discounted entrance fee.
🍽️ For lunch or a coffee, we highly recommend Au Pain Bénit, a fantastic restaurant hidden in a beautiful courtyard beside the village church.
🌲 A shaded climb through the Montagne Noire
Leave Cabrespine on a beautiful, quiet mountain road with very little traffic. The route alternates between smooth tarmac roads and easy gravel sections, perfectly suited to an electric trekking bike.
Most of the climb takes place beneath the shade of chestnut and beech forests, providing welcome coolness even during the hottest summer days. Along the way, you'll enjoy beautiful views over the surrounding mountains.
🏡 Castan: an authentic mountain village
Your route continues through Castan, a peaceful village made up of several small hamlets surrounded by forests and open countryside.
Here, time seems to stand still, making it the perfect place to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the Montagne Noire.

Next you'll reach Pradelles-Cabardès, a lovely village perched at 820 metres above sea level, at the foot of the famous Pic de Nore (1,211 m), the highest summit of the Montagne Noire.
For more adventurous riders, an optional 8 km extension (including approximately 4 km of climbing) leads to the summit, where spectacular views stretch across the Pyrenees, the Mediterranean Sea and the plains surrounding Carcassonne.
